1. In adult patients with an unprovoked seizure after AIS,
management that includes antiseizure medication is
recommended on the basis of specific patient characteristics
to reduce the risk of seizure recurrence.

2. In adult patients with AIS, prophylactic treatment with
antiseizure medication is not recommended to prevent
seizures or improve functional outcome.
