Adverse Effects Contraindications Frequent weight gain, edema, increased risk of CHF, especially in patients on insulin. Can reduce bone mineralization. Associated with nonosteoporotic bone fractures. Cautions: Should not be used in patients with CHF. Hepatic impairment, NYHA Class III or IV CHF. Comments Flatulence and other GI symptoms. Less potent than other agents. Use with caution in presence of GI disease. GI adverse effects. Nausea, dizziness. 19
