Axial and sagittal images show clustered asymmetric cysts that are larger and more irregular than typical
honeycomb cysts, without traction bronchiectasis or other signs of fibrosis (arrows). Emphysema is also
present. AEF is not regarded as a distinct form of IIP, but results from the presence of a greater amount
of fibrosis than usually described in the classic definition of emphysema.
