Traction Bronchiectasis/bronchiolectasis Axial, sagittal and coronal CT images show subpleural predominant, lower lung predominant reticular abnormality with traction bronchiectasis (arrows). Traction bronchiectasis/bronchiolectasis represents irregular bronchial and/or bronchiolar dilatation caused by surrounding retractile fibrosis. Distorted airways are thus identified in a background of reticulation and/or ground glass attenuation. On contiguous HRCT sections, the dilated bronchi or bronchioles can be tracked back toward more central bronchi. e pattern in this patient represents the probable UIP pattern.
