Figure 14. Stent graft-induced new entry (SINE) tear
Stent gra-induced new entry (SINE) tear. Note the tear (arrow) in the intimal flap just
beyond the distal aspect of the stent gra. e SINE creates a fenestration perfusing the
false lumen. is is also described as type IB entry flow.
Outcomes and Complications:
Aortic rupture:
• Peridissection or periprocedural rupture (<24 hours from index presentation in
medically managed patients or <24 hours from endovascular or surgical repair) OR
• Early rupture (1–30 days from index presentation or repair) OR
• Delayed rupture (>30 days from index presentation or repair)
Dissection propagation:
• Retrograde or antegrade
• Time of onset
• Possible cause
Stent gra-induced new entry (SINE) [Figure #14]:
• Location
• Time at onset
Long-term outcomes:
• Late deaths: All deaths occurring after 30 days and after the index hospitalization
• Cause of late death and its relationship to the dissection event, device, or procedure
